Hypocrites

Hypocrisy is a big time thing in the current so called Healthcare debate. Part of the problem is simply the old, "don't confuse me with facts, I have my mind made up." Let's take but just basic examples--those who are retired military or the Congress--think public option The retired military, certain civil servants are already lined up with VA (Veterans Administration) or another program called, tricare and so these people don't have the motivation to care much about the 45-50 million Americans who don't have health care. Plus, none of us should ever forget that the Congress has a great health care plan and they don't have any real incentive to pass a healthcare bill that covers all Americans. It is much easier to hide behind tax issues and the cost. None of us really know that anyway.

To answer a specific question. It appears to me and from the experts (not on Fox News of course) that Switzerland has the best system. It is universal health care. When they first voted on it, it barely passed. Many of the same arguments then in Switzerland that the recalcitrant Republicans here, with a great healthcare plan, are making, I might add. Now, 10 years down the road, the Swiss almost 100% endorse what they now have.

During the Olympics, we heard several specials on the Canadian system. Most seem very satisfied although a Republican during the "summit" did run out the fact that some Canadian minister came to the U. S. to have a heart value replacement. The bottom line in this sorry mess is that everybody has a lobbyist: the docs, insurance companies; everybody but the poor and the uninsured. Let's face it, many Americans are a bunch of hypocrites like Congress and talk about how awful what the Democrats are doing when we are sitting out here with great insurance paid by the taxpayers and not wanting the mostly less fortunate to have what we have.
